Grab a slice of pizza or a hot dog from a street vendor, browse the high-end shops or just relax at your hotel. At 5:30 p.m. meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception.

Explore Quebec City's winding streets and historic sites with your Local Specialist. Learn about the city's French and English military past at the fortified Citadel and the Plains of Abraham, the site of a major colonial battle. This evening perhaps partake in an optional dinner at a winery nestled along the picturesque Saint Lawrence River.

Arrive in Montreal where your Local Specialist introduces you to the pleasures of the city, including the spectacular Notre-Dame Basilica, the colourful port area and Place Jacques-Cartier, epicentre of the old city. This evening, head for the woods atop Mont Rigaud and "Sucrerie de la Montagne," an authentic sugar shack officially designated as a Quebec Heritage Site. Upon arrival, meet your host for the evening as you are taken by horse-drawn carriage to the sugar shack. Learn all about maple syrup including the extraction process and production. Try a "wapiti", a typical Quebecois aperitif, while engaging with your host who will regale you with local stories. Next is an authentic Regional Meal feast, served family style as you enjoy live local folk music. Learn to dance traditional Quebecois folk dances and how to play traditional wooden spoons.

Leave the second largest city in Canada and cross back into the United States. Traverse New Hampshire on your way to Franconia Notch in the heart of the White Mountains.
