Regal traditions and ancient monuments take centre stage today as you embark on a full-day excursion from London. Visit Windsor Castle - and a working Royal residence with a proud history. Windsor Castle has been home to the royal family for over 900 years and is still an Official Residence of the Royal Family. Visit the State Apartments and St. George's Chapel or take a short walk through Windsor Town to see why it was the Queen's favourite weekend getaway. Next, discover the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe - the ancient stone circle at Stonehenge. You will have time to admire the stones and visit the world-class exhibition and visitors’ centre before returning to London.

Your Travel Director will give you suggestions on how to make the most of your full day at leisure. Walk through 'The City' exploring the oldest part of London, the imposing dome of Christopher Wren's St. Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London, with its grim history and extraordinary royal heritage. Pay tribute to Admiral Nelson in Trafalgar Square and wander down The Mall to Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of the UK's Kings since 1837. Alternatively, consider a full-day Optional Experience to the enchanting Cotswolds, visiting Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon, with a stop in the university town of Oxford to admire the towering spires of cathedrals, churches and colleges. This morning, visit one of the most important churches in London on a guided tour with a Local Host. Westminster Abbey has been the setting for 38 coronations since 1066, as well as royal weddings. It is the burial place of 17 monarchs, plus famous scientists, writers, composers and politicians. Find out why this church lost its cathedral status and what it means to be a Royal peculiar. You can pay your respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Later, visit Kensington Palace, a royal residence since the 17th century set in Kensington Gardens London, not far from the Royal Albert Hall. You’ll tour this former home to Diana, Princess of Wales, which now houses the private apartments of her son, Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge. Marvel at the beautiful sunken garden, a favourite of Diana’s. Enjoy a delicious English cream tea in the adjacent Orangery before returning to your hotel.

No fewer than twenty markets lie within easy reach of central London. Borough Market, London's most renowned food market, presents an array of exceptional British and international produce. Your Local Guide will take you on a walk for a Cultural Insight into the daily lives of Londoners and the market traditions which have been passed down for generations. It is a haven for anybody who cares about the quality and sourcing of the food they eat - chefs, restaurateurs, passionate amateur cooks and people who just happen to love eating and drinking. During this afternoon, you may wish to take advantage of free entry to one of London’s outstanding museums. Your Guide will offer two different drop-off options - either the Tate Modern, British Museum or Thames Riverside. Alternatively, you may wish to see the South Bank of the city and use your Oyster card to explore more on your own.

Your last full day in London is yours to enjoy. Do last-minute shopping or take a trip up the 309-metre Shard – one of Europe’s tallest buildings - for spectacular views out over the city. Sail under the famous Tower Bridge before enjoying a Farewell Dinner at a historic pub with a toast to your unforgettable week.
